EMERGENCY READINESS
STRENGTHEN THE RESPONSE
Montecito depends on a capable response to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and other incidents. I will support planning that gives our firefighters and staff the training, equipment, facilities, and staffing needed to do their jobs safely and effectively.
Readiness also depends on the less visible work behind a call: maintaining equipment, preparing for high-demand periods, and coordinating with regional partners. I will listen to the professionals responsible for that work and weigh their recommendations against the District’s long-term resources.

COMMUNITY PREPAREDNESS
REDUCE RISK TOGETHER
Fire protection begins well before an emergency. Wildfire risk reduction, defensible space, evacuation planning, and clear public information can help neighbors make better decisions and give responders a stronger starting point.
I will support practical public education and cooperation with the agencies and community partners involved in preparedness. Residents should know where to find trusted guidance, understand what an evacuation warning or order means, and have a plan for their households.

RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE
PLAN FOR THE LONG TERM
The Board must sustain excellent service while being careful with public resources. That means looking beyond a single budget year to pension obligations, capital needs, staffing, and the investments required to keep the District ready.
I will continue asking clear questions, reviewing trade-offs, and explaining the reasons behind decisions. Responsible stewardship should support the people who protect Montecito today while keeping the District financially strong for the future.
